Best Scrubs for Cracked Heels: Scrub Your Way To Perfect Feet!
In addition to having a good foot file and some luxurious foot lotion, it’s important to also have a foot scrub as part of your routine!
Foot scrubs are great for a lot of things. First, they help prep the skin to soak up moisturizer more effectively, so you get the most from your lotion. Second, they help remove dead skin from the parts of your feet that may be too soft/sensitive for a foot file, like around your toes. Finally, they can be a gentler exfoliation option if your heels are too badly cracked or painful to use a foot file or pumice stone.
There are a lot of foot scrubs out there, and we went in search of the best scrubs for cracked heels and rough skin. We found some great options at every price point, and with a variety of ingredients or scents. I also tried to focus on foot scrubs that use ingredients that are good for the environment. Using scrubs that rely on plastics to exfoliate the skin are terrible for our oceans, so I tried to find scrubs that were dissolvable salt scrubs, or made with natural ingredients like peach pits (which is what my face scrub is made of).
Hopefully you will find one or more of these works perfectly to keep your feet happy! These would also make great gifts as part of a spa kit! Add in a luxurious moisturizer, foot file, and nail polish – and you have the perfect pedicure gift set!
Best Foot Scrub for Cracked Heels Reviews and Comparison
#1 Premium Nature Antifungal Tea Tree Body & Foot Scrub
If you spend a lot of time wearing shoes or boots, odds are you’ve dealt with fungal infections before. They can lead to smelly feet, calluses, and cracked skin – all of which need an antifungal regimen to cure.
This scrub uses Epsom and Dead Sea salts to scrub away dead skin, and Jojoba oil to moisturize. It also includes a variety of essential oils that are natural deodorants and antifungal ingredients. I highly recommend using this lotion if you suffer from smelly feet or athlete’s foot, and you want an all-natural option.
Things We Liked
- All-natural ingredients
- Antifungal
- Environmentally friendly
Things We Didn't Like
- A bit expensive
- May be too strong/irritating for sensitive skin
#2 Elbahya Sea Salt Foot Scrub with Lavender and Sweet Almond
Elbahya is a Moroccan-based skincare company that specializes in natural skincare and hair care products. They also have a line of products to be used as part of the Hammam ritual, a skincare routine traditionally used in Moroccan steam spas.
Their foot scrub only has 3 ingredients: sea salt, almond oil, and lavender extract. I like that this is such a simple recipe – you know exactly what you’re putting on your body! It also sounds like a sweet, luxurious scrub you could use as part of your weekly foot care routine without worrying about irritation. I’d love to try a bunch of their products, but I think I’ll buy this one first for sure!
Things We Liked
- All-natural ingredients
- Simple formula
- Hammam-friendly
Things We Didn't Like
- A little expensive
#3 Tree Hut Exfoliating Foot Scrub with Peppermint and Sugar
If you’re not big on using salt as a scrubbing agent, the other common exfoliator in scrubs is sugar. I find sugar to be less abrasive than salt, and this scrub would be great if you have painfully cracked heels, as it won’t burn as much as a salt scrub might.
This scrub uses Shea butter to moisturize the feet, and peppermint oil to keep them smelling fresh and clean. It’s a great scrub to use if you have sensitive skin, or looking for something you can use on your legs as well!
Things We Liked
- Inexpensive
- All-natural & organic ingredients
- Smells great
Things We Didn't Like
- Hard to get out of bottle
- Hardens over time; water won’t soften it up at all
- Bottle hard to use if you have hand/wrist problems
#4 Earth Therapeutics Tea Tree Oil Cooling Foot Scrub
In addition to salt and sugar, there are some scrubs out there that use other ingredients to scrub away dead skin. Earth Therapeutics uses jojoba seeds and apricot shells to slough off skin without the potential irritation of salt or sugar. It is, however, a bit more of an aggressive scrub, so use with caution if you have soft or sensitive skin.
I like this scrub because it’s made by the same company that makes my favorite foot lotion. I also like that it uses herbal ingredients to exfoliate and cleanse the feet, leaving them well-prepped for whatever lotion I’m using at the time!
Things We Liked
- All-natural ingredients
- Salt/Sugar alternative
- Can use on hands/elbows
Things We Didn't Like
- A bit expensive
- Container is really small
- Might be too rough for some
- May clog drains
#5 Miracle of Aloe Coconut Foot Scrub
I wanted to include this foot scrub because it’s a much gentler scrub than the others I included here. It’s more of an aloe gel cleanser with a bit of scrubbing power, thanks to some sugar and coconut shells.
I’d recommend this foot scrub to anyone who doesn’t need a harsh scrub, or has sensitive skin. The Aloe Vera will leave skin moisturized, and won’t irritate the skin like some other scrubs do. The sugar and coconut skins also won’t be as harsh as using salt or other natural scrubbing agents like apricot shells.
Things We Liked
- Natural ingredients
- Soothing
- Gentle scrub
Things We Didn't Like
- Too gentle for cracked/dry skin
- Long ingredient list
- Expensive

Foot Scrubs: Exfoliating Ingredients At A Glance
Epsom Salt
Epsom salt is most commonly used as a soaking agent, but it can be a great way to exfoliate your feet too! It’s known to help improve foot odor, reduce muscle pain, and treat toenail fungus. It also dissolves in water, so it won’t gunk up your shower or bath drains!
Sea Salt / Dead Sea Salt
Unlike Epsom salt, sea salts contain extra minerals that can be beneficial to your foot health. Sea salt scrubs are fairly abrasive, but not too harsh for most feet. These also dissolve naturally, so your drains will be free from extra products!
Sugar
A common ingredient in face scrubs, sugar can be used in foot scrubs as well. It’s less abrasive than salt, so it’s better for sensitive feet. It’s also not as drying as salt, so you can use it with a moisturizing lotion without worrying about excessive dryness later.
Pumice
Pumice is a natural byproduct of volcanoes, and has been used for years as a natural exfoliator in brick form. However, with the trend of adding charcoal to everything skin-related, we’re now seeing pumice in things like body and foot scrubs. It’s a great all-natural scrubbing ingredient that is gentle or rough, depending on how coarse it’s grated.
Seeds & Shells
Another common ingredient in face and body scrubs is ground seeds or shells. They are an effective, all-natural way to scrub the skin – and a great way to use up potential food wasted like apricot/peach pits, coconut shells, or seeds. The only thing I will warn you about is that these do tend to clog drains over time – so don’t use them if you have problematic drains!
