Summer is almost here! Visiting sandy beaches, amusement parks, and soaking up all of the sun possible is what we will all hopefully be doing. No matter what your summer involves, your feet will certainly be front and center for the festivities. Whether you wear sandals, flip-flops, or even no shoes at all you feet need to look smooth and dainty. Before summer starts you should pamper yourself! We are going to talk about tips and tricks to help get your feet looking perfect for the beach in the summer. And also how to keep them that way.

Get your Feet Ready

To start your summer off right, go to a professional and get a pedicure. A DIY pedicure is great for keeping your feet nice, but to get them looking and feeling their best go see a professional.  They will take away all of the dead skin and calluses and make you feel amazing. A trip to the spa for a pedicure will set you back about $30-50. Getting one done at the beginning of summer will get push you in the right direction.

Get a Tan

Get a Tan2 A tan can do wonders for your overall look. You will look like a Grecian goddess who is ready for summer. Your feet will look amazing after visiting the spa and a great tan. I personally don’t suggest tanning beds. Either going to the beach to get a natural tan or grab some sunless tanner. There are tons of sunless tanners out there that range in intensity. Palmer’s offers a natural bronze lotion that will gradually tan your skin as well as maintain a tan. St.Tropez is another great self-tanner that is a little more high end. They have a slew of different products Get a Tanlike a mouse, body polish, and moisturizer. Ulta is currently selling all three of these products in a self-tan express starter kit for $27.00. And finally, if you are not fond of creams there are tanning mists available.

Coola offers a sunless tan dry body oil mist. This is a great option if you’re like me and cannot stand having creams sit on your skin. It is a bit pricier Get a Tan1though. It is selling at Ulta for a whopping $46.00.

Bright painted nails

Nothing will compliment your brand new tan quite like bright summer nail polish. You can either go get your nails professionally done, or pick up a few colors and do it on your own. I like painting my own nails so I can reapply without having to pay more money for someone else to do it. I can also purchase really nice nail polish that will last a while. There are a few of brands I suggest. Sinful Colors is a brand that sells bright nail polish colors for dirt cheap. They might chip a bit more than the other brands below. But for the price and the colors they offer this brand is Bright painted nailsreally great. Essie nail polishes are really good and cost about $9.00 at Amazon. They last without chipping and have so many different colors. Butter London has amazing quality nail polish with an array of different colors. They are pretty pricey though. A Butter London nail polish costs $18.00 at Amazon. You need a good top coat to help your nails last. I personally suggest Sally Hansens insta dry top coat. It says it is anti-chip, and it really works! It only costs $4.99 at Target!

Healing your Heels

During the summertime, most likely you will be going to parks or events that will have you on your feet for hours. Being in most shoes for hours can cause cuts or blisters on the back of your heels. I have personally been at Disneyworld in canvas sneakers that put blisters on my feet and it was painful. I learned from that mistake and will never again go somewhere like that without one thing. Blister Cushions! These ones are from Band Aid and cost $1.04 per count. That is a small price to pay for healing blisters or putting them on the back of your heels before they start as a preventative measure.

Get rid of Swollen Feet

After walking around amusement parks or beaches all day, your feet can retain water and become swollen and achy. If this happens to you then the answer to your problem is simple. Pick up some Epsom salt at your local grocery store. You can put some in a bucket with some warm water and soak your feet for about 20 minutes. Add some lavender oil for a calming effect. Amazon sells lavender oil for $10.95.

Keep your Feet looking Summer Ready
